DocPoint pre-event at Oodi on January 27, and other free screenings
This year, DocPoint is organising several free film screenings over two days: on Tuesday, 27 January, one week ahead of the festival, and during the festival on Wednesday, 4 February.
DOCPOINT PRE-EVENT AT OODI ON 27 JANUARY
You can get into the festival mood already on Tuesday, 27 January, when DocPoint, in collaboration with Oodi, hosts a free pre-festival club at Kino Regina. During the day, three films from the festival programme will be screened: King Matt the First, Confessions of a Swedish Man, and Amos A – A Portrait of Success and Solitude.
King Matt the First will be shown as a baby cinema screening, aimed especially at audiences arriving with babies or small children. Unlike a regular cinema screening, the film’s sound level will be slightly lower than usual, and the cinema will have dim lighting instead of complete darkness.
In addition, a discussion event in Finnish and Swedish, In the Grip of History – Amos A., will be held as an introduction to the documentary film about Amos Anderson. The discussion will delve into the challenges and ambiguities of portraying history. The discussion event is organised in collaboration with Finlandssvensk Filmcentrum and the Amos Anderson Foundation.
Admission to the event is free, but tickets for the film screenings must be reserved in advance via DocPoint’s ticket shop. You can access the ticket shop via the previous link as well as through the films’ individual presentation pages.
